Is Social Networking Bad for Teenagers Social networking is a way to communicate with family and friends through websites such as Facebook, twitter and more. Ever since technology took over in todayââ¬â¢s society most of our connections occur online, through social networks. Social Media allows people to access your personal information online. There are many positives to social media sites such as connecting with old friends and family you donââ¬â¢t see but there are also negatives to social media. Some negatives to social media would be cyber-bulling, hacking and privacy. Social networks are the most frequently used and the popular sites on the Internet are used mostly by the younger generation which causes trouble for them in the future. Teenagers have to revolve their life around social media to stay up to date with whatââ¬â¢s going on in others lives. Social Media has affected the youth physically and mentally and causing them to break down, it also affecting their everyday lives in which it is causing sleep deprivation, anxiety, obesity, and more. Teenagers do not realize how much they harming themselves physically, emotionally, and mentally. ââ¬Å"Teenagers suffer from Facebook depression, sexting, and cyberbullying, which are threats.â⬠ââ¬Å"Other problems from social networking so much is obesity, Internet addiction, and sleep deprivation are issued for teenagers.â⬠(Ramasubbu, 2015).
